The manufacturing industry is constantly looking for ways to optimize production. Researchers within VF-KDO just recently did a case together with ABB on this very subject that we from VF-KDO hope the industry can find inspiration from.
In this short demonstration Bernard Schmidt from the University of Skövde will explain how the OPT platform (developed at the University of Skövde) can be integrated to ABB Robot Studio and Hololens. The purpose of doing this kind of integration is to optimize the usage of resources.
In the specific robot cell that Bernard Schmidt demonstrates the goal was to optimize the cycle time, optimize the space in the cell, and optimize energy consumption. The researchers also wanted to provide the operator with a decision support system to make it easier to take better decisions but also shorten the time to decision.
